Salutations everyone! My name is H-M and I’ll be your facilitator for Habitat Learn’s Service Provider Training program. Depending on your role, you’ll have a set sequence of mini modules to complete. The mini modules can be found below.
This page will be your temporary landing for all things training related until we get our fancy learning management system finalized. You will have to complete the training before you start your assignments. It only takes a couple of hours for those of you who are the sit-down-and-power through material types.
Anything schedule-related can be sent to Alexx our scheduler and admin specialist, and any queries related to administration issues can go to Joycelin! Questions related to school policies can be posed to either of them and they’ll have an answer for you.
You will have access to the training material all year so you can revisit stuff if you’re in doubt about anything. Protocols and practices may evolve a little and if that happens, we’ll keep you updated.
However, please familiarize yourself with the material that’s here, because there are Habitat Learn protocols and note or transcript formatting rules you have to adhere to when you’re providing your respective services in the field.
Here’s how this will work, if you’re a note-taker, you will complete Modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5B, 6 and 7. If you’re a captioner, you will complete Modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 5A, 6 and 7. If you’re one of our combos, as I’d like to call it ([clears throat] that means you’re a captioner and a note-taker), you have to complete all the modules.
You have to finish the questionnaire on this page when you’ve gone through all the respective modules in order for us to confirm that you’ve completed the training program. Hint hint, please don’t leave it to the last minute because it can affect the assignments you get.
After that, you are more than welcome to book a check-in session with me if you need clarification on or further explanations anything that we’ve covered in the content.
And that’s all I have for you right now! Ready, set, go!
